Moving is already a full-time project for a few days. Boxes, keys, utilities, final walkthroughs, and the actual move usually leave cleaning at the bottom of the list. A move-out cleaning is designed to handle the empty-home details that normal recurring service does not need to address every visit.

What Is Included in a Move-Out Cleaning?

The exact scope depends on the home, but the focus is a detailed reset of accessible surfaces. Kitchens and bathrooms receive the most attention, along with cabinet exteriors, counters, fixtures, sinks, floors, dusting, doors, trim, and the areas that become visible once furniture is gone.

An empty house often looks easier at first, but it also exposes buildup behind furniture, along edges, on baseboards, and inside areas that were difficult to reach while the home was occupied. That is why move-out cleaning is priced differently from routine maintenance.

Are the Oven, Refrigerator, and Windows Included?

Inside appliances and interior windows are usually quoted as add-ons so you can choose the scope you actually need. Cleaniture typically charges about $25 for the inside of an oven and $25 for the inside of a refrigerator. Interior windows are generally around $5 to $8 each depending on the job.

How Much Does Move-Out Cleaning Cost in Lake Norman?

Our move-in and move-out service has a $250 minimum. Final pricing depends on square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, condition, and requested extras. Larger homes or properties with heavier buildup take more time and are quoted as a flat project price rather than by the hour.

For example, a large five-bedroom home will naturally cost more than a small apartment because there are more bathrooms, more floors, more cabinets, and simply more surface area to detail. We ask for the home details before confirming the price so the scope is clear before the appointment.

How Should You Prepare?

The best setup is an empty or nearly empty home with personal items and trash already removed. Make sure the cleaners have access to the property and that utilities are still on. Running water and electricity are important for a proper final clean.

Move-Out Cleaning for Renters and Home Sellers

For renters, the goal is usually to leave the home ready for the landlord or property manager’s inspection. For sellers, it is about handing over a clean property that feels cared for when the next owner walks in. The cleaning does not repair damage, but it can make the home present much better at the final walkthrough.
